Bonsai-a-thon at the Huntington Library is one of the most popular bonsai events in Southern California. We're always happy to be a part of the event. Jason Chan gave a demonstration at the 2023 Huntington Library along with other local bonsai artists.

Annual Show at the Lakeside Park Garden Center at Lake Merritt, located at 666 Bellevue Avenue, Oakland CA. Show hours are Saturday 10 AM - 5 PM and Sunday 10 AM - 4 PM. The show features an impressive exhibit of quality bonsai as well as a demonstration by Jason Chan, owner of Eastern Leaf Bonsai Nursery, past board member of GSBF and author of a bonsai book dedicated to helping beginners and new bonsai enthusiasts. GSBF, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c) (3) educational organization comprised of member and affiliate clubs in California and adjoining states. The GSBF promotes the art of bonsai.

Absolutely not, nearly all bonsai events are catered with beginners in mind. Most events are tailored to encourage exploring the art of bonsai from a beginner's standpoint. All levels of bonsai enthusiasts are always welcome.
For the San Diego Bonsai Club, Jason was invited to do a juniper bonsai styling demonstration at the Japanese Friendship Garden. Monthly meetings are also conducted at the LAC Arboretum and at selected sites throughout our community. To help members prepare for spring, the Southern Breeze Society invited members to bring a tree or learn how to repot a bonsai.
