This unique variety of Japanese Maple, Acer Shirasawanum, features a rounder broader leaf than the Acer Palmatum. During spring, the maple will feature lemon yellow foliage. In the fall, the leaves are reddish orange with a hint of purple. Maple Bonsai trees are deciduous and will lose all of their leaves during winter. The Acer Shirasawanum bonsai tree is aged 5-7 years old and arrives in a 8"L ceramic bonsai pot. Pot may vary depending on availability. Tree measures 12" - 15" tall potted.
Japanese maple trees are easy to take care of. However, due to their deciduous nature, we recommend them for intermediate and advanced enthusiasts.
During the warmer months, leaf burn may occur for this species of maple. We recommend defoliation during late summer to produce stronger leaves. Trees may arrive with some leaf burn which is a normal process of growth and leaf rotation.
