Ficus Audrey (Ficus Benghalensis) is the national tree of India and is also known as a Bengal Fig or Banyan Tree. Closely related to the popular Fiddle Leaf Fig, Ficus Audrey is a hardier plant that requires less care than its cousin. Like the Fiddle Leaf, Ficus Audrey has large, flat green leaves that grow upwards along a single trunk. As the plant grows, it can be allowed to branch into a full shrub shape, or lower leaves trimmed off to resemble a tree. Water when top 2-3 inches of soil are dry, being careful not to over water. Ficus Audrey likes humidity, and will thrive with a daily misting to its leaves.

Arrives in choice of ceramic planter with decorative Spanish moss, or plastic liner only. Plant measures approximately 14-16" in height, not including planter.

Care Information

The success of your plant depends on a variety of factors, most notably watering and light. Below are some species specific guidelines to follow that will help ensure that your plant will stay healthy and happy.

Pruning Tips:
The Ficus Audrey leaves can be removed and plucked as they get too abundant. The stems can also be cut back to encourage backbudding and new foliage. The foliage will continue to grow and elongate as the plant ages.
Fertilizing:
We recommend fertilizing your plant every 3 months using a granular time release fertilizer.
Lighting:
This plant enjoys indirect sunlight. Indoor settings are perfect for this type of plant.
Temperature Requirements:
The Ficus Audrey enjoys a humid warmer climate. They enjoy indoor temperatures as well.
Watering Requirements:
Water your plant once the soil begins to look dry. If the soil dries out too much, the plant will begin to wilt. Adding water may rejuvenate the leaves at this point if the tree has not been left to dry out for too long. Ficus Audrey enjoys high humidity and does well with a daily misting.
Repotting:
Repotting or transplanting your plant is a good way to ensure the soil maintains enough nutrients for the plant to thrive. We recommend repotting or transplanting as your tree begins to grow and outgrow its planter.
Indoor / Outdoor:
This type of plant does best in an indoor setting.
