This unique variety of Japanese Maple features a dense canopy of bright red leaves in the spring that gradually darken as they mature, reaching a dark burgundy in the winter months. Japanese Maple bonsai trees, or Acer Palmatum, are highly prized as bonsai due to their unique leaves. Japanese Maple Bonsai trees are deciduous and will lose all of their leaves during winter. Dwarf Japanese Red Maple bonsai tree is aged 5-7 years old and arrives in a 8"L ceramic bonsai pot. Pot may vary depending on availability. Tree measures 12" - 15" tall potted.

Japanese maple trees are easy to take care of. However, due to their deciduous nature, we recommend them for intermediate and advanced enthusiasts.

During the warmer months, leaf burn may occur for this species of maple. Trees may arrive with some leaf burn which is a normal process of growth and leaf rotation.
