This unique variety of Japanese Maple features a very unique lacy foliage. The foliage has deeply cut dissected leaves that spread out nicely. In spring, the foliage is bright green. During the fall, the leaves begin to turn purple before completely turning red right before dormancy. Japanese Maple bonsai trees, or Acer Palmatum, are highly prized as bonsai due to their unique leaves. Their growth patterns also make them very easy to train.
