Care Information

The success of your plant depends on a variety of factors, most notably watering and light. Below are some species specific guidelines to follow that will help ensure that your plant will stay healthy and happy.

Pruning Tips:
The Croton leaves and stems can be removed and plucked as they get too abundant. The foliage will continue to grow and elongate as the tree ages.

Fertilizing:
We recommend fertilizing only in spring and summer months using a general houseplant fertilizer. Do not fertilize in fall or winter.

Lighting:
This plant enjoys bright light to maintain vibrancy of color; can tolerate low light conditions, but leaves will grow darker and stems may stretch and grow leggy

Temperature Requirements:
The Croton enjoys a humid, warm climate, ideally between 60-70 degrees. Keep indoors to protect from cold.

Watering Requirements:
Crotons enjoy high humidity and will thrive with a daily misting. Water thoroughly when top of soil begins to look dry. Plant may drop leaves if soil becomes too dry. Drooping leaves is a sign of too much water.

Repotting:
Repotting or transplanting your plant is a good way to ensure the soil maintains enough nutrients for the plant to thrive. We recommend repotting or transplanting as your plant begins to grow and outgrow its planter.

Indoor / Outdoor:
This type of plant does best in an indoor setting.
