The Shimpaku Juniper is often the subject of bonsai's most prized trees. Unlike the Juniper Procumbens Nana, the Shimpaku juniper bonsai tree produces bright green soft foliage and an attractive red-brown, shaggy bark. The trunk and branches are also highly flexible which can be bent and shaped without damage allowing the juniper bonsai tree to be trained to any desired shape.
