Money trees grow very quickly. Sometimes if left to grow, the leaves will grow long and tall. However, if you would like to compact the growth and keep it closer to the trunk of the tree, it’s very easy to prune back your leaves.

Make the cut at exactly the point you would like new growth to appear. Over time, new growth will appear around the cut. The new growth usually has shorter stems with vibrant leaves. The fastest growth occurs during the hotter months, with some full stems developing in less than two weeks.

Pictured to the left is what the growth will look like after it has been cut. New shoots sprout directly from the thicker stem. The leaf structure will develop from the new shoot.
